Lanny B. Hale, MD

Lanny Hale, MD began his practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1979. As a general ophthalmologist, he diagnosed and treated all major ocular disorders and provided routine eye care. In 1984, he became involved in refractive surgery and began to commit his time and efforts toward the development and refinement of new techniques and instrumentation. In 1991, he became involved in FDA studies in RK and later participated in FDA studies of the excimer laser--an advanced version of which is now used for LASIK. He also co-directed physician training courses, helping hundreds of surgeons enter the field of refractive surgery. In 1996, Dr. Hale was asked to commute monthly to Arizona to co-direct a university-based keratorefractive and corneal fellowship program. This led to the formation of clinical practices dedicated to refractive surgery in both Wisconsin and Arizona. In 1998, he made the professional decision to fully dedicate his career and practices to vision correction surgery. In 2000, as a result of his relentless pursuit of excellence and dedication to the specialty of vision correction surgery, he founded the Advanced Vision Correction Foundation. The goal of this foundation is to be a leader in research, development, and training of new and innovative techniques, as well as to provide support to other surgeons.

Barbara T. Harris, MBA, COA, PA-C

Barbara Harris earned a BA in French from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, and attended the Bowman Gray School of Medicine Physician Assistant program at Wake Forest University Medical Center. She became nationally certified as a physician assistant and after working for a year as a family practice physician assistant, she began working at Graystone Ophthalmology Associates as an ophthalmic physician assistant. Steven J. Lichtenstein received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also received his Masters of Science in Anatomy. Following completion of an internship in internal medicine at the University of Louisville, Dr. Lichtenstein completed a residence in ophthalmology at Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Yale-New Haven Hospital. He then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, Boston Children’s Hospital.

Currently, Dr. Lichtenstein is an Associate Clinical Professor in the departments of surgery and pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and is a pediatric ophthalmologist with the Illinois Eye Center. William C. Lloyd, III, MD, FACS

Dr. Bill Lloyd is an experienced clinician and award-winning medical educator. He received a

Kenneth E. Morgenstern, MD

Dr. Paul Rice was the Senior Staff Ophthalmologist of Synergy Health in West Bend, Wisconsin, and his wife, Karen, was the Senior Staff Nurse in Ophthalmology at Synergy Health. Alfred Solish, MD is the founder of the Southern California Glaucoma Consultants. Dr. Solish received two undergraduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the other in Political Science. Dr Uttley currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Michael N. Wiggins

Michael N. Wiggins has a BS degree from the University of Central Arkansas and MD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX.

Dr. Wiggins is currently on faculty at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Jones Eye Institute as the Associate Residency Director for Ophthalmology and Director of the Refractive Surgery Service. Dr. Wiggins is also the course director for optics and works with students in clinics and surgery at the ophthalmic technology program at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Wiggins is the co-founder and current Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Ophthalmic Medical Technology.
