This course is designed to assist ophthalmic medical personnel in developing skills for testing pupil function during an eye examination. Step-by-step instructions are provided for identifying various pupil defects.

Upon completing this course, the student should be able to:

  • Describe nervous system pathways for pupil function.
  • Describe anatomy and function of iris muscles controlling pupil function.
  • Identify a relative afferent pupil defect (RAPD).
  • Identify sympathetic (Horner’s) and parasympathetic (Adie’s, CN III palsy, and Argyll-Robertson) pupil defects in the efferent pathways

  Failed Courses

Your credit certificate for 1.0 JCAHPO Group (A) credit hour will be available for you to print immediately following your test or at your leisure from your MYCE page.

All passed and failed courses remain on your MYCE page. On a periodic basis, all completed courses will be moved to your MYCE Archived Course page.
