Technicians worldwide are familiar with the seemingly ever-present patient complaint of itchy, scratchy eyes, often heard repeatedly from the same patients. It is one of the most common complaints presented to ophthalmic specialists. Technicians may not realize that there is a true pathology behind dry eye disease and, left untreated, can progress to a serious sight-threatening condition.
